International Journal of Language and Translation Studies; is an international, peer-reviewed, scientific and academic journal that includes qualified articles in its field. The publication language of the journal is English, and academic studies written in Turkish, German, Russian and Arabic will also be accepted. The journal will be published twice a year, in June and December.
Journal aims; to become a qualified media organ of Selcuk University; to create a scientific platform where scientists share their knowledge, experience, evaluation, opinions and suggestions by including studies on philology, translation studies, foreign language teaching, applied linguistics in English and other languages, to present these studies to the contribution and discussion of the academic community, and to contribute to the knowledge of the field. By means of its open access policy, the Journal will provide researchers with free and unlimited access within easy reach. In this context, all studies published in the Journal are accessible at http://lotus.selcuk.edu.tr 

International Journal of Language and Translation Studies will include original scientific articles, book reviews, compilations and translations carried out within the scope of Philology, Translation Studies, Linguistics, Foreign Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, Semiotics, Intertextuality, Stylistics.  

Template

The texts are to be written according to the APA 6 spelling rule layout.
- 12 point Times New Roman font is used in the text.

-The text should be based on both sides, without hyphenation, leaving margins at the top, bottom, right margins 2.5 cm and left margins 2.0 cm on A4 size paper.

Paragraphs and headings should have 1.0 cm indent.

-In the Paragraph tab, in the spacing section, first the field should be 0 pt, then the field should be 6 pt, and the line spacing should be 1.5.

- The title of the article should be written one under the other in Turkish and English, with 14 font size, Times New Roman, bold and centered.

-If the study has been presented in a congress/symposium etc. before, if it was produced from a project or thesis, an explanation should be made by adding a * footnote at the end of the title.

- Author names should be 12 point, Times New Roman and plain. The full names of the author(s) should be centered under the title of the article, the institutions (university, faculty and department names), city and country names and e-mail addresses should be indicated in the footnote.

-Öz and Abstract should be prepared using 11 font size, 1.0 line spacing, Times New Roman font and should be between 150-250 words. Reference should not be used in the abstract. Studies written in full text in Turkish should include the English title and "Abstract", while studies written in English full text should have a Turkish title and "Öz".

- Since it will facilitate the readability and citation of articles at international level, there should be an extended English summary between 500-750 words under the heading "Structured Abstract". Extended abstracts are not required for articles written in English.

- Anahtar kelimeler and Keywords should be between 4-8 words.

- Common expressions and abbreviations in English should not be written in italics. For example, apriori, vis-a-vis, per se etc ...

- An expression in the text should not be italicized in order to emphasize more.

-Citation should be within the text. Explanations should be given in footnotes and not at the end of the text.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
1. The Editorial Board is responsible for evaluating the work without regard to ethnicity, gender, nationality, religious belief and political philosophy of the authors.
2. The Editorial Board has full responsibility and authority to accept or reject a work. While making a positive or negative decision about the works, the board is authorized to consider the authentic value of the study, its contribution to the field, the validity and reliability of the research method, the clarity of the narration and the purpose and scope of the journal.
3. The Editorial Board is responsible for the total quality of the content/publication and has the authority to convey an error page or make corrections when necessary.
4. The Editorial Board is responsible for being the contact person between the author and the referee and being in contact with everyone involved in the publication process.
5. The Editorial Board should keep the referees anonymous and prevent plagiarism / fake data. The board is responsible for implementing the policies of blind review and publication process, which are among the publishing policies of the journal.
6. The Editorial Board has the authority to withdraw the work in question if it detects an error in a published work, which invalidates the work or important parts of it and/or contains plagiarism and/or is unethical.
7. The Editorial Board does not allow conflict of interest between authors and referees, and takes in consideration whether there is a conflict/cooperation of interest between them.
8. The Editorial Board clearly states that the author information of the manuscripts submitted for review is confidential, and that this is a privileged communication.
9. The Editorial Board ensures that every work is evaluated objectively and in due time.
10. The Editorial Board is responsible for keeping the identity of referees anonymous.
11. The Editorial Board; assigns the manuscripts to referees taking into account their expertise, who are responsible for conducting the evaluations impartially and independently.
12. The Editorial Board strives continuously to improve and increase its publication quality.
13. The Editorial Board reserves the right to refuse non-scientific evaluations that do not comply with academic rules.
14. The Editorial Board takes into account the consistent criticism of the studies published in the journal and grants the author(s) the right to reply to the criticized work.


Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
1. Referees should only agree to evaluate studies related to their field of expertise.
2. Referees should conduct the assessment with impartiality and confidentiality.
3. If the referees do not consider themselves expert enough on the subject of the study, if they are able to evaluate only a part of them, or if it does not seem possible to provide feedback in due time, they should inform the editor about the situation and request to be excluded from the process.
4. Referees should act and meet the requirements of the double-blind referee evaluation process.
5. When referees notice that there is a conflict of interest/cooperation between authors or other parties, they should refuse to evaluate the work and inform editors.
6. If the referees detect an error in the manuscripts, and if this error invalidates the study or its important parts, and/or it contains plagiarism, and/or it is unethical, they are responsible for informing the editor.
7. Referees should make the assessment in a constructive language in accordance with academic etiquette; and avoid personal comments containing insults and hostility.
8. Referees should evaluate the study that they have accepted within due time. They should give a positive or negative response within the time period stated in the DergiPark system.
9. Referees should retain the confidentiality of the study and the evaluation process.


Ethical Responsibilities of the Author(s):
1. The responsibility of the opinions in the studies and their compliance with scientific and ethical rules belong to the author(s).
2. The author(s) are responsible for preparing the study according to the writing rules of the Journal.
3. The author(s) are responsible for informing that the study is original and that it has not been published before and it has not been published in another language or accepted for publication and/or is not under review.
4. The Copyright Transfer Agreement should be signed by the author(s).
5. Copyright-related materials (e.g. tables, figures or long quotations) with necessary permission and acknowledgment should be used. Studies of other authors and contributors, or sources referred should appropriately be used in the manuscripts and cited in references.
6. The author(s) are responsible for not committing ethical violations such as plagiarism, illegal reference, and omission of reference. Should there be a contrary case, the article would be rejected.
7. If any form of study/research support has been received, it should be indicated in the study.
8. The author(s) cannot partially or completely publish the same study in more than one journal, without providing an appropriate justification, permission or cross-reference.
9. If the author(s) detect errors and inaccuracies after the evaluation, early preview or publication of the study, they should notify the editorial board so that appropriate action can be taken.
10. All authors should have a direct academic and scientific contribution to the study submitted to the journal. Should it be detected otherwise, the decision-making authority belongs to the editorial board of the journal.
11. With studies with more than one author, the order of the authors' name should be a co-decision. All authors should indicate the author order as signed in The Copyright Transfer Agreement. Changing the order of authors and/or removing/adding the author(s) of a study submitted for publication should not be suggested.

12. The author(s) should be attentive to the ethical principles in the data collection process.

Publication Principles and Publication Ethics
1. The journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic publication published online. Original scientific studies are published. Special issues can be published with the decision of the editorial board.
2. In order for the articles to be published, they should not be previously published elsewhere, accepted for publication, or sent to any journal simultaneously. Papers previously presented at scientific meetings such as symposiums, congress etc., but not published, and studies carried out based upon graduate theses are accepted for publication.
3. The similarity rate of the studies submitted to the journal should be below 20%. Before the articles are taken into the evaluation process, they are subjected to the iThenticate program, and a similarity report is obtained. Studies with a similarity rate of over 20% are rejected by the Editorial Board. Plagiarism, duplication, fraud authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, slicing publication, breaching of copyrights and prevailing conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviours. All manuscripts not in accordance with the accepted ethical standards will not be published.
4. The responsibility of the studies submitted to the journal belongs to the authors. For this reason, the authors are required to sign and scan The Copyright Transfer Form and upload it to the system during the application and send it to the journal. The Copyright Transfer Form can be accessed from the files header in the 'submit article' button on the journal web page.

5. Editorial board has the right not to publish the submitted works. They can make corrections in published works.

6. Journal editor and/or journal editorial board members have the right to accept/reject a submitted article without sending it to the referees.

Publication Policy
International Journal of Language and Translation Studies is published by Selçuk University on …………. The name and publication rights of the journal belong to Selçuk University. All rights of the articles, photographs, maps, illustrations and subjects published in the journal are reserved. Quotations can be made by indicating the source. The responsibility of the opinions in the articles belongs to the author(s). The publication rights of the articles are deemed to have been transferred to Selçuk University International Journal of Language and Translation Studies. This transfer includes publishing in virtual environment.

PUBLICATION PROCESS
1. Studies submitted to the journal are evaluated by the editorial board in terms of compliance with the journal principles.
2. Studies approved by the Editorial Board are checked by the secretariat for spelling and language control. If there are sections that do not comply with the journal spelling rules, the study is sent to the author, and they are asked to make corrections within 7 days.
3. Studies with correct spelling are sent to two referees in the relevant field. Under no circumstances author information is shared with the referees. The identities of the referees are kept confidential, and the referee reports are kept for five years.
4. After the referees have reviewed the work, they might request corrections or refuse it. The referees prepare the referee report appropriately, and submit the copy of the work and the refereeing report on which the parts to be corrected are marked. Journal management is responsible for conveying the request for correction to the author. The author is responsible for making the corrections requested by the referees within one month and sending the edited study to the journal. The author(s) should take into account the criticism and suggestions of the referees and the editorial board. Should there be issues that they do not agree with, they can object with justifications.
5. If one of the referee reports is negative, the study is sent to the third referee, or the editorial board makes the final decision.
6. If the study accepted by both referees, it is published in the following issue.
7. Accepted studies take place in the 'Accepted Articles' tab on the journal web page. 

International Journal of Language and Translation Studies does not charge any fee for the submission, preview, evaluation, editing and publication of the submitted works.
International Journal of Language and Translation Studies does not pay royalties to referees who evaluate the articles.
